Members of the Miami Urban Development Review Board criticized Arquitectonica’s renderings of 888 Brickell Avenue building. The chairman, Robert Behar, called it a “very boring” design. Arquitectonica said it was meant to be minimalist. The group said they “like the idea of a pure building”. The building has the same pattern on all four sides, which was a deterrent and a component of the building’s austerity. This would be the first structure in the financial district (Brickell) to be entirely composed of offices.
Behar recommended the group take more time to make the building aesthetically pleasing.
